Backyard fun doesn't have to end with cold weather. There are plenty of backyard games and other activities that can keep your family entertained throughout the fall and winter months.

Backyard Games for Fall Months
Your backyard fun is only limited by your imagination on autumn days.

• Kids can continue to play on backyard play equipment even on cold days. But when the temperature dips below freezing, make sure you check the area for ice to avoid accidents.
• Potato sack races should inspire some friendly competition among family members, and help keep warm you up when it's nippy out.
• If you have a large lawn without many trees, you may have enough room to fly a kite on windy days.

Backyard Games for Winter Months
Let it snow and you should have the makings of your own winter wonderland in your backyard.

• Kids of all ages should enjoy building snowmen and snow forts, as well as making snow angels. Use trees, bushes, decks and other structures as strategic cover during snowball fights.
• If your family enjoys twirling on the ice you can set up your own ice skating rink on your lawn. You should find a flat area of your lawn and set up a corral with wood before using a hose to create the ice.
• Wondering if you'll have to give up your golf game when it snows? Think again. Take the clubs outside and practice your golf swing with bright-colored balls that can be seen against the snow. Set up a miniature golf course by digging small holes around your backyard and placing small flags in them.

It can be difficult to decide what to do on a cold, wintery day. However, you don't have to go any further than your backyard to enjoy some fun with your family and friends.
