If you've got a big backyard area, make the most of it by creating a number of 'zones' that extend the habitable space of your home and invite a range of uses. An attractive lawn area can make a fabulous focal point and softens the backyard, particularly if there is a lot of stone or concrete.

Careful planning, such as a patio area between the house and the lawn, or a screened area with outdoor furniture, creates a transition between the indoor and outdoor space. That can make your backyard feel like a natural extension of your home's living space, enhancing both your enjoyment of your home and the value of your house.

Enhance Your Leisure Time

A green lawn is attractive to look at and gives your home a competitive edge when it comes to selling up. Other features such as a spa, pool, outdoor furniture, or fire pit can add considerably to the look and feel of your backyard.

Your leisure time can be enhanced considerably by a soft lawn, a warm pool, some stylish furniture, and perhaps a sand pit or play area to keep the children happy while you relax on your sun lounger.
