This enhanced formulation prolongs the time that bacteria are exposed to the antibiotic and promotes coverage of tough-to-treat S. pneumoniae.

Augmentin is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the conditions listed below:

lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, urinary tract infections.

Recommendations
