Description: Carpet Grass isn't the prettiest grass in the world, but it will grow in wet-soil areas were others won't. Its medium texture and light green coloring are similar to centipede grasses.

Pros:

  • Can tolerate moderate shade
  • Likes wet & warm climates

Cons:

  • Carpet grass has a shallow root system so it requires frequent watering when it is dry
  • It is slow to grow in the spring, and quick to brown in the winter
  • Not very durable
