Homeowners buying their first lawn and garden tools can be overwhelmed with the array of mowers and other tools needed to get started with lawn and garden care. Here is a list of lawn care tools that are useful for most lawns. Of course, homeowner's needs vary according to regional climate, landscaping, and personal preference. Checking with a local garden supply retailer can help determine which tools are essential for specific lawns.
Lawn mowers: There are many types of mowers to meet a variety of needs. Push lawn mowers range from manually operated mowers that can save on fuel costs to easy-to-use fuel and electric powered models. Typically, lawn mowers allow for adjusting blades according to specific types of grass. Riding mowers provide ease and save time.
"Weed whacking" tools: These whirling tools eliminate weeds and tall grass with a rapidly rotating cord. They can cover a lot of ground quickly and work well for cutting large areas where weeds are established.
